Yep.  Two factions of the business party.

Kylenz...I really, really like Chomsky.  I really, really, take your view on things seriously.  I'll just have to look into Noam and his views more.

I don't have faith in the U.S. gov't, but it seems like it would take someone with purposely evil intentions to plan 911.  I think Bush and all were greedy, selfish, and reckless...but evil?  Having said that though I guess it's not good to just rule something out without complete proof that they weren't responsible.

Hi Greg, I don't want to turn the thread from Chomsky to about 9/11. But in my opinion, I don't think the Bush administration had any idea either. The planning runs much deeper, the Bilderbergers, the Trilateral Commission, the Council on Foreign Relations.. there's the Project for the New American Century (PNAC) that highlights the need for a 'new Pearl Harbour' event to give the US military a foothold in the Middle East. All for securing oil reserves. And then there's Larry Silverstein's insurance policy with the World Trade Center, so many different reasons (financial and geopolitical) that have nothing at all to do with 'terrorism'. Just like the JFK assassination that you can't just blame it all on one reason - there are multiple and overlapping agendas at play - which Chomsky avoids at all costs.

But I respect that you follow his work, and he does have many good points too. I guess I'm just getting cynical and shifting my goalposts as I get older.  124
