Hi all,

Want to share some exciting news with you!

There's a limited edition collection of previously unseen Beatles photos due for release in the next few months - they were taken by an award winning film maker and photographer during their UK tour of 1963/64. He was granted special access behind the scenes and next to the stage, so there are some incredible shots of the Fab Four both at rest and play!

We are working on releasing further info as we speak and I will update as soon as more details are confirmed.

You can register your interest and see a preview photo on the official website at http://www.the-beatles-hidden-gallery.com

Registration is free and comes with an iron-clad anti-spam privacy policy, or you can simply pop along and see what's new as and when we announce updates.

Thanks to the admin and moderators for letting me share this news with you all!

Just to keep you updated - The Beatles Hidden Gallery website has been refreshed with some new content, telling a little more about the photographer and photos - the identity of the photographer will be revealed soon!

The site now has a preview image on view and there's a fab quiz in the members' area too - why not have a go and then put your results in this thread so we can see who knows the most about The Beatles?!

Another update!

A press release has been put on the news section of the main site, revealing the identity of the photographer! What's more, the site now states that the photographs and frames will carry a certificate of authenticity from the Fine Arts Trade Guild - this means that the production quality will be ultra high!

The photographer is scheduled for a slot on Look North tomorrow evening - he will be chatting about working with the Fab Four and showing some of the pics. It's on BBC1 or Sky 976 at 6.30 p.m. (show is half an hour).

Have just been looking through the images and reckon 'Twist and Shout' is my favourite - closely followed by 'Kicking Back'!

Silly election stuff got in the way of the interview last night - but instead, Paul Berriff and The Beatles Hidden Gallery will be shown tonight, with a longer slot - same time and place!

Another Tv appearance! Paul Berriff will be on the GMTV sofa tomorrow morning, speaking about the photos and exhibition. He should be on at both 6.15 and 8.20ish - he'll have a couple of the photos with him and they'll show some more by way of a montage or somesuch too! Fab!

All fine and good, but at the end of the day, they're only a bunch of black-and-white photos. Sure they may have value to the person who shot them (and to a few collectors), but I'm more about the MUSIC. Unseen unreleased SONGS - yes bring them on!! Unseen, unreleased photos? Well, we've all seen the tons of black-and-white photos in various glossy Beatle books designed for coffee tables everywhere. At the time, they would've been the most-photographed people in the world. I actually prefer seeing rare photos of them in their later period, in colour, wearing all the psychedelic gear. There are some really cool pics in the remastered Stereo Box Set collection.

It was a good tv interview about the photos, and I understand you're trying to generate more interest, but sometimes y'know... 'less is more'!  0127-lipssealed

Thanks for the feedback on the pictures. And yes, I totally understand that previously unheard music would be much much cooler than pics! If only eh?!

The feedback from the exhibition was great - those who had the chance to see the photos 'on the flesh' as it were, were totally knocked out by the size, quality and compositions. There may be a huge amount of photos of The Beatles, and yes, they were probably the most photographed people around at that time. The thing that's different about these is the fact that they are pretty natural images - not from official, staged photo shoots.

It's been interesting to see different fan's take on this collection, it just goes to show that while we may all love them, different people look for different things and have varying opinions. It's what makes us human and individual, so it can never be a bad thing :-)

For those of you who have been interested in following this story, please note that there is a new version of the website up now.

You can watch a video of the production and also one of Paul Berriff talking about the project.

We're currently looking to post a Q & A section to Paul, so if you have any questions for the photographer, let me know and we'll post the best ones and his responses on the website.

The Beatles Hidden Gallery has now found a home in Liverpool for a permanent exhibition!

This means that fans will be able to go and view these incredible images totally FREE - good stuff! Venue details and opening date tbc, but it will definitely be this summer. Once we have the go ahead to reveal details, I'll start a new thread to tell people all about it. :-)
