Released December 8, 1967. Yeah, I know, I know. Just an EP release in the UK, but we all have the CD now!  wink

First, I just want to put my hand up and say I am a huge fan of Blue Jay Way and Flying! Yes, we know the album is decked-out in famous songs and hit singles from the Summer of Love, but it's the tracks like Baby You're A Rich Man and Your Mother Should Know that make the album sparkle for me. The other cool thing I love about this album is having all those '67 singles in one place - I can listen to Strawberry Fields, Penny Lane, I Am The Walrus, Hello Goodbye etc all in one sitting and never need to change discs!

I've got 2 different LP editions of this record - one is the familiar one with the 24-page booklet.. the other was released in New Zealand-only as far as I could gather, and the cover featured The Beatles in psychedelic garb, waving to the camera, it looked like it was maybe from the I Am The Walrus video shoot. It's a very cool cover! This is the image here: http://www.earcandymag.com/beatdisc-3.jpg

To me this album is better than Sgt. Pepper. So many great songs on it!!

The Fool On The Hill is my favourite crazy

Yeah, people forget that song-for-song, it's possibly stronger than Pepper! It's always been one of my favourite albums simply because it has so many of my Beatle favourites all in one place. Any album that has something extraordinary like I Am The Walrus HAS to be cool!
