Trend: Rock greats performing a classic album in it's entirety.

Fact: Recently Van Morrison and Brian Wilson have done this at the Hollywood Bowl.

Prediction: Macca will perform an  entire album, live,  in total.

I assume Ram and Band On the Run would be most in demand, so let's assume Paul is going to do those two albums - and he is turning to us to pick the THIRD COMPLETE ALBUM to be  played live at the Hollywood Bowl  Concert.

Out of the entire Paul solo and Wings album catalogue  - which ONE do you request he perform, live, in addition to those two?

You make the call!  idea

Well.. for a left-field pick, how about McCartney II??!

People refuse to give the album its dues, they are put off by the synthesized home-made feel, but I feel that the songs can potentially transform into great live songs - like Temporary Secretary and Darkroom. In the quiet acoustic section of the set, you could have the likes of Waterfalls, Summer's Day Song and One of These Days.. for a bit of fun you can have Nobody Knows and Bogey Music.. and you can have some cruisy blazing Dave Gilmour-style bluesy rock with On The Way.. finishing with a barnstorming Coming Up!! The album isn't too long, would make a tight set list with some rearranging of song order.

So yeah, it's McCartney II for me! And don't try and recreate the sound of the original recordings - ban all the synthesizers!! (well perhaps with the exception of the loop in Temporary Secretary) ..Tie up Wix's hands behind his back while the album is performed - and find some way of rocking out with guitars and real horns / strings! bigbeer

WoW, Kyle, excellent example of why  we ask questions here, we are able to get creative, imaginative and wonderful ideas and information from each other.

Now, I would never have picked MacDuece, BUT, presenting it live gives Macca an opportunity to highlight the essence and soul of the tracks, but in a more finished and improved way - starting with using real instrumentation free of the synths.

I agree Temporary Secretary has fantastic un-tapped potential, amongst others.  Performing these new arrangements, live would really enliven Paul, the band and his entire live act.

Put it  in between BOTR and RAM on the live set.  Other ideas?

Yep.  I wouldn't have picked McC II but love the pick.  Of course I'd go with Ram.  I also would like to see Venus and Mars.  Did he just drop Listen to What the Man Said?

I would be interested in seeing him if I knew he'd cover two solo albums in their entirety.  Who knows?

Yeah I was gonna mention Venus & Mars but we already heard it in the Wings Over America set, and Back to The Egg would be great but we got a taste of the 'Rockestra' in the Kampuchea concerts. Trying to think of albums we haven't really heard much in a live setting. Tug of War probably wouldn't work too well due to all the duets / guest vocals required (Carl Perkins may be hard to track down these days!). Flowers in the Dirt got a fair hearing in the 'Tripping The Live Fantastic' tour. For some odd reason, Mac II seems strangely logical. The instrumental tracks like Frozen Jap could be incorporated into extended jams and transposed onto guitars with Macca on piano. Hmmm...
