Found this rough-as-guts early take of 'I Want You (Shes' So Heavy)' on YouTube, and it appears to have Macca on lead vocals! Crazy!

That's pretty cool....I've heard it before, but this has the vocals cleaned up and brought forward in the mix. I wonder if it's macca doing his own guide vocal to play the bass bits?

Interesting. In this session and maybe others, the foursome exemplify a Stones like grit in their delivery.Reminiscent of some of the Hamburg tapes.Just pure plaintive rock and rock and roll with a tinge of some unnamable eroticism rarely found on finished Beatle product.Billy J. Kramer of the Dakotas once said that the Beatles weree much balsier than on the reecords. This is testament to that assesment.

Yeah! True! It does have that Hamburg quality to it! I was just thinking, Macca should perform this song on tour as a tribute to John (like how he does 'Day In The Life' and 'Give Peace A Chance'). That would be awesome, and he has a band that would play it really well.

Saw Sir Paul do "Day in Life" and "Peace" on SNL in December.Nearly tearjerking to hear his tribute to his fallen mate.Nice job, although the most likely younger crowd didn't seem too enthused.I think there might have been a few "Applause" signs raised in urgency.
