It IS true that it's a down year for concerts across the board, even Macca. Tough to scrounge up a few hundred for you and your significant other to go to a show.

Hi, everyone.  Some of you might remember me from Mike's board.  I'm just dropping in here to see what's going on 'cause I'm sad today, having made the decision not to go to KC tonight (about 3 hours from here).

KC isn't totally sold out, but it seems to be close to a sell-out.  I did a couple of searches today on Ticketmaster to see what's still available.  There are a few seats, but none to get too excited about.

I was surprised at the ticket price, and ticket price certainly affected my ability to make the trip to KC.  Ticket price is a lot higher than '05, higher than the inflation since then.

I was disappointed that the concert date wasn't announced earlier.  Had I known about KC back in Jan/Feb/Mar, I could have budgeted for it and gone.  It was announced ... maybe 6 weeks ago?   Something like that.  I couldn't get things together enough to allow me to go.  On the other hand, given how he keeps adding dates, I'm still hoping that maybe in the future there'll be a date here in Omaha or maybe DesMoines.

All that said, it's so cool that he's doing this tour.  I'm lovin' his new stuff.  I love MAF, even more than Chaos, and it's interesting to see what a different direction those two have gone in comparison to his previous stuff.  He's getting lots more reflective, while maintaining the fun.

So, here I am today, while my heart is in KC.  Sigh.

Good to hear from you, Jenny....you have been missed!

The ticket prices do keep many folks from going on short notice, for sure. It seems as though Macca does a tour about every time my work slows down. While that would afford me the time to go to the Show, it makes it tough to budget for tickets.

In short, you are among good company...

Thanks for the welcome back.

Today I'm feeling happy that I don't have to suffer the post-concert depression syndrome.

I guess Macca gets us one way or another.  Whether we go to a concert or have to miss it, there's a downside.  The two situations just differ on what side of the concert the downer occurs on.
