I'm reading The John Lennon Companion which is really good.  It's a collection of research articles on John.

This is from one of the articles:  John Lennon's music was not an instrument for change but just an expression of the need for change.  ...Powerful political institutions (corporations, parties, gov't) have insulated themselves from society.

I've got to run here, but I do think his music was an instrument for change.  It maybe is exaggerated at times, but I do think he was part of the instruments for change including the war in southeast Asia.

(Just ordered another book, too.  #352.  You Never Give Me Your Money.  I'll review soon.)

That is a good description of his music Greg. A lot of his lyrics had that "what if?" angle instead of..."this is the way it should be"...which turns people off in a big way. I think more people hate Bono than like him these days.  crazy

I just had to post back and say two things.

It's interesting that you made that statement because that is exactly what the people who did the research article said.  Very insightful of you.

Second, I've enjoyed reading your posts.  I just never got the chance to say that til now.
