Any1 got Cubase or know someone who knows the deal?

I want to buy the Dell Inspiron 1525.  I am looking for the cheapest interface that will work with this Dell and Cubase.

(...been rereading Drummed Out! The Sacking of Pete Best.  I'm going to go with Paul having a big say in this.  It was for the better though.)

I don't have Cubase, but what I have is having trouble reading my windows7 64bit processor...I'm hoping they will come up with a software upgrade though. I have an Edirol interface and I also have Line 6 equpment...both crash out once and a while and I have to reboot to get them to work again. Both of their websites say they are "working on it"  spank

2...thx man.

I am now thinking of Reaper.  The people on homerecording.com forums really praise this program.  Then again Cubase Essential educator discount is $75.

I am really confused on what $500 laptop to buy now.  I will prob just go with Dell.

The inherent trait of gear; what to get.

LC has an ASUS laptop and is tickled pink with it......just my two cents worth.

I like Reaper.....the best thing about it really..well, not best...but is sure is nice that you can use the thing as long as you need before you decide to buy it. It does  have a trial period of course, but it never stops working. For 50 bucks...it's really good.

What I have on my computer is Mixcraft 5. This program is fairly light compared to Reaper..but is sure is a lot easier to use. I have Ableton suite 8 on my computer, but I can't figure that thing out at all.

2 of 3 I really appreciate this info you're giving me.

Seriously, I really appreciate this man.  I'm going to buy a new computer and some software and interface this week.

This whole recording-by-computer is driving me nuts.

I sold my Fostex MR-1600, I think it was called, to delve into this arena.

I will check out Mixcraft.

Here's how dumb I am....I've been using my Line 6 Tone Port for my amp simulator...and it's been cutting out because it doesn't support 64 bit. Well duh.....Mixcraft has it's own built in, and I had no idea.
