I just saw on Amazon where they're remastering the classic Red & Blue "greatest Hits" albums...and they're STILL not doing it right. 1962-1966 (Red Album) could be on 1 disc, and could you at least put on "Taxman" for 2 reasons, so George could have a song and "Revolver" could have a bit more exposure, i mean look at "Rubber Soul" they got almost half the whole album on there, but from "Revolver" just those 2??? Cmon Apple do things right for a change. So what if the Red Album is a single disc and the Blue Album is double. Is that gonna ruin our collection or something, why is that a problem, is Apple being run by obsessive/compulsive people where everything has to be perfect?

I guess all the songs are re-mastered anyway..since they've done every album cut now. One of the reasons I never bought the Red and Blue albums is that I have every song on them.

I read these are coming out in Oct, as they've never been issued as re-mastered albums before.

Will see The Beatles in the charts again.

I still regard these albums as the ultimate Beatles 'greatest hit' collection, and deserves its time in the sun again.

Past Masters is a bit uneven, due to the inclusion of B-sides and other bits 'n' pieces, and '1' misses on some essential gems whereas the red & blue albums have the cream of the crop. These albums will introduce any new fan and have them hooked for life.. I know.. I was one of 'em :)

Woohooo, got the red & blue albums, sounding cool as ever!! Yessss!!! Had to replace my 'blue' set' as the cd labels were deteriorating. Good bass, just like I remembered the vinyl. Who else got the red and blue?  beer

always thought the vast difference between the early and late photos perfectly resembled the difference in the way their music changed during the same time period.

and no. don't add any songs. the songs on an album are the songs on an album. unless we are talking previously unheard stuff...leave it as it is.

Because they screwed up the first time, thats why, even in 1973, when they first came out on LP, 8-track and cassette. They manage to cram all those songs on the blue album, why not the red? This really annoys me, why does everything have to be so "authentic"??

I guess different generations buy albums for different reasons. I would guess a lot of people bought the Red and Blue albums as their first Beatle albums, so they are special to them. Being an old fart, I never bought them because I had every song on them anyway. I still wouldn't buy them now...being older and fartyer.  laughing

Yeah, it's for this reason I wasn't all that wild on Wingspan when it came out. If it's someone's introduction to Paul McCartney, it's uneven and doesn't cover his whole solo career adequately. If I was a first-time listener to Macca, I'd be a little miffed at having to sit through 'Bip Bop / Hey Diddle' or 'The Lovely Linda' - not the best way to show off a guy's career when the average punter was brought up on Band on the Run, or Jet. But I guess that's an entirely new topic altogether!

Mind you, I think 'Love' was one of those kinds of albums. People in the bootleg scene were making far better mashups than what appeared on the Love album. If that was a new generation's introduction to The Beatles, well I think it majorly failed to make them 'cool' again. It may have been cool in the eyes of the people who went to the Cirque du Soleil show, but not your hipster emo kid or in the dj scene. It's hard to know how to package The Beatles to make them relevant once again. Perhaps the songs and their legacy alone continue to stand for themselves :)

has anyone noticed the red and blue cd's are also being marketed with t shirts in some stores? perhaps the re master sales weren't what they thought they would be? I will be getting the blue cd's (I found the red at a garage sale for two bucks!!!). I am a hopeless completist!!!!!!!!!!!
