That's sounds great PW...thanks for that. I hope the rest of the songs are without the Lennon Echo too.  beer

I'm diggin' that one.....harder hitting than the original. Those simple strums at the beginning...just heavenly!

I gotta say, though, that this sounds more like a different take altogether than the take used on "Double Fantasy".....that's not a knock at all. I love stuff like that!

Thanks, I'm ready for the 'stripped' Fantasy!

Not sure if the "re-master" means besides being stripped down, if there was cutting, fading of this track before the older version layers were put on - or if this is a different track - the result is definitely different - and I like it!

At the end he is having as much fun with the vocals as he did in his Beatle days.

I've got a similar mix to this on an mp3 bootleg somewhere.. wow this is so cool! :)

Notice how in-tune John's voice is (apart from the off-key howls at the end of the song of course), they didn't need to use Auto Tune software back in those days!

I'm more of a fan of 'Milk and Honey' than of 'Double Fantasy' and can't wait for it to be remastered. I wonder if there is a 'stripped down' version of Grow Old With Me, rather than the crumbly screechy version that is on the LP, it would be nice to get a cleaned-up version of that song - it's one of my favourite ever Lennon songs :)

I think that the recording of "Grow Old With Me" we got on "Milk & Honey" was the demo and that was as far as he'd gotten with it. I'm sure if there'd been a better recording of it they would have included that in the Lennon Boxed Set I have where there was a version with strings scored by George Martin. I love the song too and had my dear (now departed) Aunt Clarice play it at my wedding way back in 1987. She played it right before I was to go out to the altar and I lost it completely...it was my only song request. :)

Not a big fan of that album.  Definitely don't like that song...but...I really kind of liked that version of that tune.  I wasn't even going to listen to the link PW posted because of my opinion of the album, but I figure a PW post was worth checking out.  Man, I'm glad I checked it out.  Very cool.  I'm sitting here listening to it on a Bose speaker system, and it's just phenomenal.

imo Yeah it does sound like a different take to me too.  I don't know if it is nor care, but it just sounds like a different take to me.
And I liked the wedding story mervap.

Oh my gosh... wow! It would definitely be my top nomination for a wedding song if the opportunity ever heads my way someday! Great Beatle minds think alike!  beer

I loved the new stripped mix. I think they should also do this with "Milk & Honey", since i do look at it as "Double Fantesy, Volume 2". I would love to hear "Nobody Told Me" stripped like this?

I cherry picked the Double Fantasy and Milk and Honey tracks I like from Itunes - they're great!
It's easy to hear on M+H more clarity and rocking, plus  John's roaring confidence emerge again - he definitely was on the verge....

Stripped DF - had me flashback and say to myself - If after he passed, and DF was not done and these stripped versions were released as un-released White Album tracks - I would have believed it!.
