Released November 1990

Recorded during his first World tour for 13 years and after his comeback album Flowers In The Dirt. The tour was massive succes from start the 26th September in Norway to the end a year later. I saw Macca in Gothenburg, Sweden on the second date of the tour. The tour set many records, in Brazil paul and the Band played to 184,000 people a the Maracan Stadium, a new world record thumbup

For the first time Paul played his most beloved Beatles songs in between Wings and solo-classics. Songs like Hey Jude, Get Back, The Fool On The Hill, Back In The USSR, I Saw Her Standing There, Can´t Buy My Love, Elinor Rigby, Sgt. Pepper and Golden Slumbers/Carry That Wight/The End were performed for the first time. thumbup

The album was released as 3 LP, with lots of great music on. Very brave of Mccartney to use Figure Of Eight as his opener!!

His band were the band Paul had used to records Flowers In The Dirt. Linda on keyboard, Robbie McIntos on guitars, Hamish Stuart on gutar/bass, Chris Witton on drums and Paul Wix Wickens on keys. Paul on almost everything!

I bought this record when it came out as a 3-LP box set, it was very expensive, in fact Led Zeppelin's 'Remasters' album had come out at the same time and I had both the live Macca and the Led Zep imported and arrived on the same day - it sure burnt a huge hole in my wallet! I immediately dubbed them onto tapes - these days, I'd simply rip them to 192kbps mp3s!  cool

It was so awesome for Paul to open those concerts with Figure of Eight - it was my favourite song on Flowers In The Dirt - the raucous vocal delivery suits a live gig situation. I've never seen Macca live, probably never will, but the Live Fantastic concerts would've been amazing.

Yeah he was going to come here last time round, but the whole Bali terror attack thing may have had a detrimental impact on the tour schedule.

So many of the Flowers songs work so well on this Tour album. Rough Ride sounds great, My Brave Face sounds as strong as the Beatle / Wings tracks; We Got Married has this hazy summery atmosphere, hearing the crowd in the sound mix makes the song feel like one big love-in. I hope he tours the Memory Almost Full album at some stage - once he deals with the divorce mess of course.

saw this concert three times in chicago. first two in an arena. then again on the last stop in a stadium. the set had changed a bit (which i was more than a little greatful for). he stopped doing maybe i'm amazed (too hard on his voice at the time), stopped doing aint that a shame. but replaced it with let em in...and an incredibly unforgettable medley/tribute to john. it featured a haunting strawberry fields, then merged to a bluesy help...and ended with a most appropriate sing-a-long give peace a chance.

i was expecting a rocker to end it. i was hoping for a soily type of song. maybe something i had never heard before. i never expected...not once, not even a little...the amazing finale golden slumbers medley. the first time you see this song done live...by the man who sang it originally...when you aren't expecxting it...is a moment i will never forget.
