Just reading a quote from Greg in another thread,
Quote
I think that every Wings album is great...not good.  I am so warped I can't even understand how people can criticize Wildlife.  I love every song on that album.  If I was forced to rank them I'd have BTTE near the top.
I thought, well why not have a thread ranking the Wings albums! Here's mine:

1 - Red Rose Speedway
2 - Back To The Egg
3 - Band On The Run
4 - Venus and Mars
5 - London Town
6 - Wings at the Speed of Sound
7 - Wild Life
8 - Wings Over America

We all have our own personal favourites, and Red Rose Speedway is mine. Back To The Egg is also a fave.. Band on the Run is of course a classic. Wild Life may be my #7, but I still enjoy it very much, some of my favourite Wings tracks are 'Some People Never Know', 'I Am Your Singer' and 'Tomorrow'.. very underrated.. and 'Mumbo' rocks big time. I also enjoy Wings Over America but always prefer studio versions of songs, hence WOA is my least-played Wings album.

If you want to include 'Wings Greatest' or 'Wingspan' in your rankings, that's cool too. I used to dig playing Wings Greatest since it included Another Day, Junior's Farm and Hi Hi Hi. Very worthwhile in any fan (or new fan)'s collection.

I can't do it.  I tried and tried.  Nothing belongs near the bottom for me.
I can't to do it.  Honestly.

Wow, that was weird when I came to the realization that I couldn't put anything near the bottom.
After Wings...oh yeah...I can put things in order.  I love Tug of War and Pipes of Peace and some others.
I really don't like Off the Ground.

I really don't like Off the Ground.
Apart from a couple of standouts (collaborations with Elvis Costello) that were probably leftovers from Flowers in the Dirt, I feel the same way. This was where I went off Paul for a while.. until Chaos and Creation came out. 90s grunge bands had much more excitement for me.

Pat, great list! Great to see 1973 rockin' the top of the list!

It was the same he did with Pipes of Piece, which were leftover songs from TOW

Red Rose Speedway at #3.  I'd be interested in your opinion of that album.
I ask in the sense of someone asking me about my opinion of Ram.  I really am interested in hearing you explain why you like RR Speedway so much.
I love that album too.  In fact I may will go put that on next just because of this post.  I always check out the Stevie message when I play that record.

Edit:  Well...I didn't even realize.  Kylenz and Mervap also put that album up there as high.  I'm in the minority.  That record never registered as such a favorite compared to the others for me.  The medley is awesome.  I liked My Love as a single but don't like it on the album.  Loup was too long for me.  Cool song though.  Single Pigeon struck me as having a White Album-y appeal.  Gatefold album must have been a leftover from the double album intention?  His voice at that age was in prime, prime form wasn't it?

Ha!  I sat there last night and just kept flipping over RRS.  I probably ended up listening to each side 5-6 times by the time I went to (big barn) bed. lol.
My view on the album has changed, and it's back to tied for the my favorite with about four other Wings' albums.  Funny.

I don't have all of these albums,

Red Rose Speedway, may be my favourite too it is adventurous and off beat
Band on the Run & Venus and Mars - I'm pretty tied on these two, V&M is more uneven but I love the opening and it has more stand out tracks for me.
London Town - it's kind of soft but it really charms me

The rest I don't have on cd, I did really like Wild Life & I'd be interested to check that out again, nicely strange from memory.

Once again I noticed comments on Off the Ground, I wrote a post on that album, I love it, aint it great we are all different?
