i don't think it's neccessary. most beatle fans have the box sets anyway. no need for another complation.

We used to have a record in the family years ago called 'The Essential Beatles' that was only released in New Zealand and Australia on Apple. It came out in 1972.. I used to enjoy the album very much. http://www.aboutthebeatles.com/discography_lp_theessentialbeatles_aus.php

Another one I used to thrash a lot was the 'Hey Jude' compilation, came out around 1970? - http://www.aboutthebeatles.com/discography_lp_heyjude.php

One thing I loved about it was the thickness of the vinyl and the deep grooves, the sound quality was absolutely superb. At the time, it was the only way I could hear the song 'Rain', and it sounded amazing. And it had all my fav songs from both the early-period and latter-period Beatles all on one record. Perhaps there is no point in remastering it now, since all the tracks have already been 'done' via the Box set.

The remaining albums I would nominate for remastering would be 'The Beatles At The Hollywood Bowl', and 'Rarities' (the US not the UK version which was just mainly B-sides and from EPs). Hollywood Bowl would be really cool to hear again. Oh, and the 'Live at the Star Club, Hamburg' too, now I think of it! Some of those performances sound so raw, it's almost punkish!
