This song is sort of a sequel to Don Mclean's "American Pie", remember how that song centered and started off with the story of the deaths of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper. Well this sequel will be called English Pie. and it will start off with the death of John Lennon and abstractly, just like McLean's song will tell the history of rock & roll since Dec.8, 1980. I think i got the chorus down:
"Bye, bye, English flaming pie, went from Jersy to the Mercy, but the mercy was dry, those good ol' lads were drinking english tea singing 'They're gonna crucify me, they're gonna crucify me"
What do you think, good start? Any ideas about the verses are welcome.

your hearts in the right place, but it's still too similar to probably not avoid having legal action come at you from don mclean...maybe contact him for either a.) his blessing or b.) have him co-write with ya!  good luck.
