Anyone got an idea for a song or to for out band to learn?
I may have asked this before, but I'm back again to ask again.

5-piece.  I can do piano banjo and some other stuff.
Not looking for Takin Care of Business, Brown Eyed Girl, etc.  Great songs.  Don't want to play them.

Anything not played by bar bands that you wish they played maybe?
I considered Katy Perry's Hot and Cold on the banjo with some percussion and an acoustic.  A 50-yr-old with a banjo singing it might be just stupid enough to work.
We just learned a Desmond Dekker (old ska/reggae artist) song.
Anyway...

You got anything in mind?  I suggested Monty Python Brighter Side of Life.  I thought maybe You're Out of the Woods off of Wizard of Oz.  That's be an odd one.  I'm starting to look for something off of Red Rose Speedway now after that other post.

Thanks for any contributions.

I've thought about, and suggested with no success, Pete Townshend's "Let My Love Open The Door"....it's just well-known enough from being in a couple of movies. It is, however, a 31 year old tune. How about this one:

This whole CD is great...."The Brooklyn Side" by The Bottle Rockets.

swear to god, i've told my family that i want the bright side of life played at my funeral.

and townshend's let my love open the door (two versions, both have been put in movies) is a song that gets better and better every time i hear it.

greg, one of the most interesting cover of a beatles song was very banjo heavy. it was (this is serious) helter skelter. don't know where you can find a version of it. but it was so shockingly different that it made me laugh out loud.

Always look on the bright side of death.  Just before you draw your terminal breath.  Yes.

I wonder if the Beatles was from Pickin on the Beatles.
I don't know if we cold do the vocals justice on the Pete tune.  Great tune though.
Theme from the Jeffersons would be cool if we just did our own version and not tried to emulate orig.
