I would probely choose, "Stardust", "I'm a Fool To Care","You Always Hurt The One You Love","Love Is a Many Splendored Thing", "Have I Told You Lately That I Love You". For an album cover, it would probely have a tall building with cardboard cut-outs of people looking outside the window. Hmmmmmmmm, this whole project sounds strangely familier to a first solo album of an old friend.  knock knock

You Gave Me The Answer, Baby's Request or Honey Pie would be...wait...no...never mind.

I always liked the Hut-Sut Song and You Must Have Been a Beautiful Baby.

I'm not in favour of this kind of thing.. I know he said he didn't want to be compared to Rod Stewart, but that songbook thing was awful and embarrassing.

I think he does fine on the little things he puts on albums in small doses, but a whole album of it.. I don't know. I'll check it out though.

this exactly. especially the bold. i can't say the excitement factor is too high for this. but when it comes out, i'd be curious to hear it. probably even buy it. but i'd rather hear him do originals.

Yeah I don't want this from him.
Costello did this kind of thing years ago with Kojak Variety.  I liked it because it was obscure songs.  Many of these songs were just obscure tunes way in the corner of of the basement of music history.  They were like new songs to me.

Well, Ringo did the same thing in 1970 (thats what i was hinting about but no one seemed to have gotten it??), it was called "Sentimental Journey", but that album (understandibly) is completly forgotten now.
