I was reading more about Paul wanting to do a "standerd-pop" album and how Ringo already did that in 1970, i had this idea: Remember Ringo's "Beaucoups of Blues" album, it was his country album he recorded in Nashville in 1971. Thats something Paul could do. Remember "Sally G."? Paul could do a whole album like that. Maybe get Willie Nelson to sing with him.
Could Paul do a Country album? Listen to this and think about it.

i shudder to think of him doing that, because...well, i think country music is mostly bad. however, i do recall him doing a countrified version of can't buy me love for some tv show before (was in the 80's or 90's). and that was interesting. i like him doing alternative...reimaginings of his songs. but if he did something like that i'd much prefer him re-doing his songs. i wouldn't even listen if he did oak ridge boys or rascal flatts songs.

No, nothing like the Oak Ridge Boys, i was thinking more in "Johnny Cash/Willie Nelson/Waylon Jennings" Outlaw/Highwaymen thing. Heck, George's Traveling Wilburys was along those lines.

know what? he can do what he wants. i'm not all that thrilled with his pop standards idea, but he evidently didn't feel the need to consult me about that. so...i'm starting to think i'm out of the loop.

Chris the pop standards thing is my fault I'm afraid.  He asked me about it.  I misunderstood the question and said, "Go ahead.  Sounds like a good idea."

ahhh...so you're the one who replaced me in his inner circle. well, listen up...he likes his pickle taken off his veggie burger...only two ice cubes in his scotch (and they had damned well better be square ice cubes, too...y'know, the kind with the holes in them?)... and lots of m&m's...but no blue ones.

but he isn't that into practical jokes. so don't put that newspaper wrapped 10 lb flounder under the back seat of his jaguar...in the sweltering summer heat. he hates that.

still can't believe i'm no longer in the loop.

Hey man.  Just joking about talking to Paul and advising him what to play.  Chris said he didn't care for the album idea, and I just jumped in and jokingly said that it was I who told Paul it was ok to do the album.

No, we really don't know Paul.  You don't really know Paul do you Chris?
