Hey I'm just wondering something. Answer if you feel like it.
Who started this site? Do any of the people who started it go back away as friends or live in the same town?
I guess that's it. I was curious.
(If this site is really a government or military site and "Let's Talk Beatles" is just a code word for something else...then I understand why the info can't be divulged.)

Well...this site was created by Mervap and his lovely wife Little Child. Most of us, the first members that is..were members of another site where talking about certain subjects was frowned upon...well not really frowned upon..it's just that sometimes it got a little heated and the topic would get closed to keep the peace. That thanfully hasn't happened here yet..which is good for me because I can say Nickelback sucks and not get banned.

Yeah, Two is right...a few of us were members at another Beatles/McCartney site. I became buds with them on the message board there and, when things there became rather negative and unfriendly, Little Child suggested building another site....one where differing attitudes and ideas would not just be tolerated, but encouraged. The whole thing has evolved from there...it's all the cool members here that provide the great vibe and fine insight that make LTB such a fun place to be. It's true that I don't agree with everything posted here, but that's not a banning offense...and I am not fond of Knickelback.

PW is limiting his online time to spend more "in person" time with his family and friends. He told me by email that he does lurk and keep up with the goings on here.

yep, pretty much what was said before me is accurate. mervap (and his lovely better half) are the creators of this place. this is the place to be, i can attest. i've been to other beatles forums. and they can be filled with trolls looking for an on-line fight. and some other sites don't even tolerate you to disagree with them, can you imagine that? not disagreeing on a public forum. maybe a forum is only as good as the people posting on it...but a lot has to do with who is running things. and to that i say...thanks mervap (P) and LC (M).
and since we are mostly in agreement here...nichelback truly does blow chunks.

I'm just pleased to find a forum where I can post an opinion and not have someone dying to argue with you, you know sometimes you get a feeling where they're breathing down your neck, spoiling for a fight, and come down hard as nails simply because they probably see your username, and already they're salivating and sweating their britches. I used to try and argue and reason with these people, but I've realised that the best you can do is simply ignore them. Otherwise you end up coming down to their childish level, and all the involved parties look like idiots. This forum needs more stalkers though! A Beatle fan stalker would be cool!

Indeed, the main thing we get from Beatles' music is the "All You Need Is Love","We Can Work It Out " philosophy. There IS no time for fussing and fighting,my friends. And I agree LESS than no time to discuss sophmoric whiners like Nickleback,Coldplay and Maroon 5.Hey,was any one else here on this site intrinsically disgusted with all the supposed Geroge Harrison "fans" that came out of the woodwork when he passed in 2001?The third Beatle was tragically underappreciated until it was too late for him to enjoy his full due respect as a musician and philospher whose cultural influence rivals that of past and present national and religious leaders.

I wouldn't say disgusted...rather I would ask, "What took you so long?". I'd like to think that George is somewhere that he can see the somewhat late-blooming appreciation of his work, although I'm not sure he was driven by the need to see it.

The fact that George was neither attention starved or pretentious was indeed at the crux of his personable charms.I just personally wish I could have given him a warm hearted thanks to him on his deathbed in California. For weeks after his passiong,I couldn't bear to listen to "My Sweet Lord",just thinking if George had indeed finally found the nirvanna he'd always preached about. He sure as hell didn't find it in this miserable place. All Glories to Sri Krishna.

Feel the joy that George has found his Lord and be happy he was here for us all to enjoy his work rather than sadness that he's gone. He was indeed one-of-a-kind.

John and George seemed to be into the whole Eastern thing more than the other two.I wonder if Paul or our man Richie still practice any of their mystic educations in the current lives. There must have been SOMETHING that stuck.

Paul has said a number of times that he still meditates for relaxation...dunno about Ringo.
