Here there and everywhere there are thread dedicated to "who would you like Macca to work with". Personally, I thought the Elvis Costello collaboration was a no brainer...it was great. You would think the Eric Stewart thing would have worked out better though...I mean, he's a pretty talented songwriter, and if you can work with Creme and Godley and actually produce so interesting work, you should be able to work with Macca. Thom Yorke, which would have been pretty cool, went down he drain...mostly I think, because TY just doesn't need  or want to do that. So yeah, there's Brian Wilson, and others....but....what about these ideas.

Jeff Lynn- Too good a friend of George for that to happen?

Marshal Crenshaw - The Lennon thing, just too obvious maybe?

Mick Jagger- I don't think anyone has come up with this pairing before, but I think it could work.

Merv came up this idea....

Bonnie Raitt- Hey I think that would work too. The collaboration between Robert Plant and Allison Kraus is really good...so why not Macca and Bonnie?

What say you?

all of the best collaborators with paulie were best because they were not like paul. lennon was angry and pessimestic to paul's sweetness and optimism. costello offered the same bitter to sweet ratio. i would like to see someone younger...not a twenty something neccessarily, but a thirty something perhaps. i know thom york said no (don't know if he is angry, can't tell...and his voice doesn't appear to be paired well with someone to harmonize along with, anyway)

michael stipe from r.e.m. maybe (is he even still in the music biz?)
eddie vedder from pearl jam (angry, but can't really sing that well...sorry eddiev)

I think the original idea for the Bonnie Raitt collaboration was PW's, but it would be an excellent idea. Another fine collaborative idea would be maybe the Smithereens Pat DiNizio. Also loved the Marshall Crenshaw idea. Or maybe Karl Wallinger from World Party?

i have really been into the white stripes lately. which, translated...means i really like jack white. seems that everything he touches of late turns to gold. i'd just love to see what he could do with paulie. and...he seems the collaborative type.

I'd like to start with a double single on my choices and Marshall Crenshaw and Keith Richards.

A couple hook-riddled, guitar-driven songs with a guitar-bass- weave may just be "smashing!"

Ringo! I'd like to see Paul and Ringo do a duo thing, like Page & Plant etc..  flamebounce
