Part 2 of Living In the Material World Emphasizes George's 'Inner Life!'

Isn't it a pity, Isn't it a shame. How we break each other's hearts, and cause each other pain. How we take each other's love, Without thinking anymore. Forgetting to give back. Isn't it a pity? George HarrisonPart 2 of Living in the Material World has a much lower key of feeling to it than Part 1, which is in harmony with the texture of the second half of George's life. Still exciting though; it's nice to see Monty Python again, and there's the Traveling Wilburys, the sprawling Victorian mansion of Sir Frankie Crisp, and many insightful reflections of Harrison's life from his widow, Olivia.

just caught the entire doc. whew...it was emotional. i didn't think it would be. because...i sort of knew the ending. but it was.

scorsese didn't sugar coat the man. just showed, through interviews, who he was. he wasn't tortured like john. he lived life the way he thought it should be lived. and he lived it on his terms. we should all be so lucky. he surrounded himself with people he loved. and he did the things he loved doing. and his friends loved him so. some, ray cooper (the famed percussionist) still can barely talk about it.

look, we've all seen every picture, heard every story, and heard every song. but we haven't. we only think we did. there is lots of stuff here i've never seen. if you want to know george just a little bit more than you do now, see this. it doesn't try to make him seem like a superhero. you'll just see george. and i don't think he would have had it any other way.

I bought this on dvd last week.

I find George's life fascinating partly because of his spirituality, I am a Beatles fan who also loves spirituality.

I really liked this doco, as chris noted scorsese didn't sugar coat George, but one of the reasons why this was so good was that George never tried to sugar coat himself either, his honesty really comes through. He was someone that placed huge importance in following his own light and being straight.

Concert for George and this doco both bring home strongly just how great George was as a friend. All of his friends stress how special he made them feel, George may have avoided the public eye, but he was not a recluse, he was active and he was a serious man who loved beauty and a laugh.

I really recommend watching this.
