Ok...I'll toss this one out to you. Who was John Lennon before Yoko? I don't recall any time before Yoko, that John did his peace thing. I think Yoko made John the  socially conscious legend he is today. Ok...over to you.  wink

this is an interesting question. john was...just discovering who he was, maybe? he was the beatles are more popular than christ guy. he was the rest of you can just rattle your jewelry guy. he was a guy who said what he thought...but maybe felt bad about it later guy. after he met yoko, he may have become the i don't care what you think about what i said guy. she embolded him.

John Lennon was a sarcastic and insecure guy before Yoko....she gave him a co-conspirator with whom he could do almost anything. But he was still sarcastic and insecure.... wink

Maybe there's a clue in his song 'God', where he rejects all labels attached to himself and others in a position of similar public adulation. He just believes in 'me.. Yoko & me, and that's reality'.
