John Lennon annual candlelight memorial next week in Hollywood

Fans of John Lennon and the Beatles will place candles and flowers around Lennon's Hollywood Walk of Fame star next week, on Thursday, December 8, 2011, the anniversary of the 1980 tragic death of the late legendary singer, songwriter, peace activist, and Beatles member.The free-to-the-public gathering will take place from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in front of the Capitol Records Tower Building where Lennon's star is located, at 1750 N. Vine Street in Hollywood,California.John Lennon and Beatles songs will be performed at the event. Fans are invited to give public tributes at the open mic. Event organizers say the gathering is meant to be more a time for celebrating John's life and music than a time for mourning.The event is being sponsored by the Alliance for Survival peace group.
