The Beatles were masters at marketing at Christmas Season, great LP releases and other products were often timed for release at this time.

What Beatle gift at this time of year had the most impact on you? dog

Well, as you know, Christmas isn't really relevant in my case, but, in a matter of speaking, I guess I can say I once got the Beatles as a birthday present. That was unintentional, You see, we were in a trip in Europe, that began on the day that just happened to be my 11th birthday, and my parents, somewhere in Germany if I'm not mistaken, just happened to buy "Please Please Me" to try the radio on the car they rented - that was my first ever Beatles experience. As you can imagine, one thing led to another... I'm not sure why they chose it -  can't remember them ever mentioning the Beatles at home before that. It's just funny to think of it, you know - they had no idea what they were getting themselves into...I bet they kicked themselves for years - "damn it, we had to choose that of the entire reford store"... smileys7 for years later I asked nothing but Beatles and Paul things for every birthday and holiday - My christmas equivalent would be Hanuka, but naturally, I can't really remember what I got for each occasion...

I used to get a bunch of Beatles themed gifts, but as I got older and got a job, that became tougher...I usually have the things they're buying! One that DOES stick in my mind was the Anthology DVD, bought for me by the lovely LC.   0143-heart

White Album, I was in high school, and I am still getting a lot from THAT gift - yet, it's future incarnations were one more vinyl purchase, 2 cassette purchases, one CD and one downloads buy. laughing

Mi, that's a funny story.  Your holiday is included in the thread - as in the US- we say "Holiday" to include all celebrations and beliefs/observations that fall in December. wave

Yes I know, but for you Christmas is the main or most important holiday - at least that's my impression. With us, Hanuka is one out of many (well, maybe not so many but quite a few...).

My sister recently went to Liverpool during her trip to see the Rugby World Cup, and went to The Beatles Story, and bought me a pen and a bookmark for an early Christmas present. Pretty cool.

But one of the most awesome presents I ever got was about 5 years ago, my brother found me a very rare bootleg of the 'Get Back' sessions on vinyl, it's got the No Pakistanis song on it!

I've also received Beatles quiz books, Beatles cds (non-official albums like the Tony Sheridan sessions etc), at least they sure know what to get for me!  flamebounce
