Not enough of a critical review?

Okay, we went to this for our New Year's Eve celebration with the kids (9 & 12). Absolutely stunned by how visually gorgeous it was, and excellent story too. It seems to mimic the pace of films from the time it's set in, 1920s/30s, so it's a little slower than, say Transformers or the Bourne films. Fewer explosions as well.
The acting is top notch, with lots of surprises (for me anyway), like Jude Law, Christopher Lee, Sacha Baron Cohen and even Martin Scorcese (very brief cameo). The two children are amazing, and Ben Kingsley puts on his usual excellent performance.
It's in 3D, which I'm not a huge fan of, but after the first 10 minutes I was so immersed in the film that I didn't even remember that it was 3D.
Basically it's a love-letter to early films, done in the most technically advanced way we have. It's fun to see A Trip to the Moon in widescreen 3D, since it's one of the most primitive looking films you'll see.
I can't do it justice here, just see it if you have the opportunity.
