Full Disclosure: I LOVE Daniel Craig...That being said...

This movie is awesome! I have already seen it three times. It is not super adhesive to the book, BUT, the way it was directed and the cinematography: wow. It is the story of a reporter that gets convicted of Libel. All of a sudden he has a job offer to write memoirs and do some mystery solving away from the limelight of stockholm. He takes the job and at one point realizes he needs help with the research. Enter: the girl with the dragon tattoo. She is almost a computer savant. They make a great team. The suspense and action are awesome as is the unraveling of the mystery.

Words of caution tho: this is not a movie for kids. There is nudity, like full nudity, in the movie and scenes of violence and rape.

Its one of the best movies I have seen in a while...it really is.

Did you see the original Swedish version? Just curious since I've seen that, but not the English-language version. Wanted to know how they compare.

I have seen the original Swedish. All three.

um...I like Rooney Mara better as Lisbeth. She definitely has nicer boobs. I'm not a lesbian(not that there is anything wrong with that...) but i know boobs, i see them everyday. Any way its more than the boobs.

I also like Daniel Craig better, but I am biased.

The stories are practically the same, sometimes scene for scene. And both movies took license with some of the situations in the book. But I like the english versions "licenses" better too.

So, for you, since you have seen the swedish, i think you will like the english better, even knowing the story line.

Thanks, Lampie! I can't imagine anyone not liking Daniel Craig, and I'm looking forward to seeing another Lisbeth, even though I think Noomi Rapace did a fantastic job.

One thing I'd be interested in is an opinion from someone who hadn't read the books prior to seeing the movie(s). Particularly in the Swedish versions the viewer had to fill in a lot of information to follow the story. It must be a tough task to translate 6-800 pages into 2 hours or so!

I really liked Daniel Craig in Cowboys & Aliens, his character as an old cowboy suited him very well. Haven't been fussed with his Bond movies so it was surprising to see him do so well in other roles.

Saw the new Sherlock movie by the way... LOVED IT!
