Brian Epstein Managed The Beatles To The Pantheon

On Nov. 9, 1961, Brian Epstein left his Liverpool record store and walked a block to a seedy dive called the Cavern Club. The entertainment? A local band's lunchtime show. As he made his way into a cellar packed with grungy teenagers, this urbane 27-year-old looked conspicuously out of place in a pinstripe suit and dress shoes.Little did the crowd know that he was a step ahead of the times, like the four young musicians on the tiny stage — the Beatles.

Brian:  His value is immeasurable.  What he did was so valuable that it actually makes up for the untold tens of millions of dollars he lost them through numerous bungled moves on the business end.  The man followed through and stuck by them during those difficult months that it took him too get them signed.  It's funny but I always think in terms of years that it took him to get them going, yet it was only a matter of months.  It must have seemed like years though!  It's also amazing how much money they were making before they even hit in the U.S.  When you look at the figures for '63 it's really surprising how much they generated that year.

Would they have broken up if he had lived?  Legit arguments on both sides of that.  I personally think they would have broken up regardless.
