I don't recall seeing a bunch of stories like this one about Paulie....it's a treat to see he does stuff like this.

i recall hearing several stories on the radio about paulie. one said he saved a hospital from closing down (due to lack of funds to pay nurses) by giving a sizable donation. the radio dj (who is a shamelessly obvious beatle fanatic...one of my faves, natch) went on to suggest this was an odd announcement...for she knew for a fact that paul regularly gave huge gobs of money to needy charities...under the strict rule that the payments were to stop if the news ever got out. point was he wanted no credit for giving...just the warm and fuzzies for doing it. rare is the one who does not crave attention for doing something charitable. paulie suprises again.
