Actually Greg, I was a Pescetarianism for 6 years....not for ethical reasons, it was just the only thing that would stay down due to a Hiatal hernia. I weighed about 163..which is nuts considering I'm 6' 2". Then I got the hernia under control and started eating like a stupid head again...and Voila! Fatty Fatterton in no time.
This diet I'm on is almost vegetarian....the protein is soy based and everything else is a vegetable.

Good 4 U. Excellent. I always thought that eating often would be a great long-term plan to staying at a reasonable weight. I eat every two hours or so. Sandwich, oatmeal, small bowl of lentils, cookies, carrot, can of pop, burrito, etc. Eating something often seems to keep me from eating some massive dinner or lunch. idk. This issue is so complicated. All of the ladies at work have been diet crazy for the 14 years I've been there. I have listened to so many diet conversations it's unreal. However, they have all gained weight over the years. I think they all look great, but all the diets have not worked for weight loss. btw...4 pounds in one week? Yikes. That's actually quite impressive. Now I have to go google "Pescetarianism".

Great job, 2! We're the same height, and I'm certainly no Speedo model, but I'm trying to dip below 200 lbs. So far, with not very much effort, I'm in the 215 range, from a high of 230. The thing that works pretty well for me is to stay on the perimiter of the grocery store, keeping away from the aisles with the processed stuff. It's not easy, and I'm not perfect at doing it, but it does make a difference. When there are 16 ingredients on a label, I tend to stay away, whereas if there are 4 ingredients then I'll go for it. An example might be salsa, which I don't have the time/skill/energy to make myself. The jar that shows tomatoes, onions, peppers, garlic will go into the cart. The one that has sugar, monodihydrablahblah, color no. 385, processed petroleum distilate, etc. stays on the shelf. My wife's doing a protein and veggie diet, that I'm on by default, where there's no grains, potatoes, corn, but all the fruit and vegetables you want. Not too far from what we were eating 100 years ago, before the dreaded processing came into vogue. Good luck!

Yeah, I'm not allowed any fruit at all...nothing with sugar in it, or nothing that my body will easily convert to sugar...so, no starches at all...meaning, no root veggies at all. No bread, no potatoes, tomatoes...it's a big list.
But, I eat 4 cups of veggies each day...and unlimited salad..which helps since it's mostly water, and I need to drink 64 oz a day. Breakfast is oatmeal...not mine, the companies..very strict about that part. Or I can have a omelet..again, the companies omelet...they taste pretty good actually. I'm guessing they are egg white in powder form. They have good soups and veggie chili and other things, so lunch time is pretty easy. Dinner is my own thing...between 5-8 oz of meat, fish, chicken...and the veggies and the salad. Yeah, it's getting boring, but what the heck, I need to do this...and it's working!
