I read this article and tried to imagine how difficult this undertaking is....and how utterly impossible it would have been in 1967!

when i first heard that song live...had to be during the 89 tour...it suprised the heck out of me. wasn't expecting it. didn't even really consider he might do it.

but undertaking the whole album seems...lofty. lots of instruments there...a lot to recreate.

Well the Brian Wilson band did a great job of touring 'Smile' - my brother went to the NZ Brian Wilson show. Pepper is a similar musical palette, it's a huge undertaking but good to see someone's prepared to pull it off.

I saw Brian Wilson do Smile, as mentioned above, and it was monumentally fabulous, utilizng strings and brass where needed was beautiful.

The only problem with Paul doing 'Pepper' are the John songs.
For a reasonable fantasy, listen to the live Paul 'Pepper' songs, with Ringo's live WALHFMF and use the "live takes" from Anthology for John's 'Pepper' songs - put them in proper order -  and enjoy!
