Story Behind The Yellow Submarine Sculpture At Liverpool John Lennon Airport

In 1984, this 51 foot Yellow Submarine metal sculpture was built by apprentices from the UK shipyard Cammell Laird for the International Garden Festival held in Liverpool, home of The Beatles.  Here’s an old photo of the submarine at the festival.
