Features the best opening song on any McCartney album! Too Many People.. what a rocker it is. The Finn Brothers tried to capture this song on the 'Listen To What The Man Said' tribute, but couldn't nail it down properly. Only the original version has the drive, the verve, the energy, the inspiration.

I'm also a big fan of Eat At Home and Long Haired Lady. Smile Away has always made me cringe for some reason, maybe it's that 'smell your feet from over a mile away' lyric. Back Seat of My Car is great too - I have a demo of Paul playing it during the Let It Be sessions, hey it had a chance of being a Beatles song!  kiss Even Big Barn Bed makes its (early) debut on Ram - turning up on the reprise of Ram On!  afro

3 Legs rocks in it's own kinda way. Ram is an album that still holds up pretty well. Uncle Albert / Admiral Halsey - great song, crazy arrangement, love the voices. Great album!

I've always considered "Ram" to be Paulie's "White Album". On no other Macca album will one find as wide a diversity in styles coupled with such an unbridled sense of adventure. Of course, many Macca albums have a wide range of song styles, but "Ram" has a roughness in production that reminds me of the "White Album".

The only tune that ever gets skipped on this CD is the first "Ram On", not so much because it's weak but I enjoy "Dear Boy" so much.

some just don't get this album. maybe its linda's backing vocals being so prominent. but this album had me hooked from the first listen. i think it is most beatlesque (especially after the raw, and simple mccartney I)

lots of great songs. this album has a feel to it. a vibe, a groove...that many albums just don't generate. this one succeeds. it sounded fun to make as well.

back seat of my car was always my favorite from this. and he does his finest brian wilson-ish harmonizing on dear boy.

this album is securely locked in paul's top 5 for me.

Wow, Ram.

WHAT a masterpiece.

Surely one of Macca's top 3, one of his finest achievements.

Every track is fantastic, guitars glisten or slice your head off with power,
the drums pound along, the melodies are memorable but not bland,
the harmonies very like the Beatles.

Heart Of The Country is lovely, like something off the White album...the
scat-singing on it is divine.

I shall never tire of this upbeat, positive, immortal album.

Rock on, Macca - you are completely far out.

And it's first cousin, Thrillington, should not be ignored!

Now that the special edition Mac 1 & 2 are coming out? Do any of yall see a near future when the special edition of "Ram" will be out? that's what i'm waiting for. I'll get the special edition of Mac 1 and BOTR, but i was never that inpressed with Mac 2 because aside from a few good tracks, it just seemed more like an experimental album. And i was thinking about WOA, but thats more of a DVD thing. So i'm holding out for a "Ram: Special Edition". Now how do yall start a petition on this thing?

Here's some ideas for the bonus disc. Naturaly Disc 1 would be JUST the album. Disc 2 would start off with "Another Day" and "Oh Woman, Oh Why?". I was searching on Youtube for Ram sessions and here's what i got:

And just for good measure they can add this to end the disc.

Very interesting info. The schedule stretches out to 2016. Imagine all the money you'll need to buy all these albums, mind you there's a lot of material there I don't think I'd be interested in getting, such as the orchestral albums for instance, and the Rude Studio Recordings (have the bootlegs and they're not my cuppa tea). Will probably just stick to the Wings albums and solo Macca albums. Looking forward especially to Back To The Egg (I remember the TV Special when it originally aired and it's finally going to be on DVD! Wow!) and Red Rose Speedway of course.

Ram's gonna be cool too, not sure of a release date but it'll come along soon enough!

Rumour has it that it's gonna be paired up with "Venus & Mars", just like "McCartney 1 & 2" was. Not too sure.

I love this album, it feels to me one of the most personal Paul albums. It's quirky but well constructed & lots of energy. i think my favourite track is Heart of the Country, Paul just sounds happy, he's creating a new life a new direction and celebrating it with an album that sounds like it was a joy to make and is certainly a joy to listen to.
