It's conceivable, in my mind, that Paul's formal, multi-city, continent-spanning mega tour days are over. He'll play again. The occasional posh, iconic music hall, world capital stadium there, the odd rock festival here and the live, closed-circuit to DVD video broadcast and award shows will go on. But I had a funny thought the other day that the roll-out of 36 cities with 40 shows in 50 days era is over. What do you think? OF COURSE I HOPE I AM 100% WRONG!

I think that touring is a fun thing for Paul, and he would miss it.....he may take a bit different approach from now on, something a bit less taxing.

Even if he does give up touring (on a massive scale), I wouldn't hold it against him, after all, he's given the world so much already. I just hope he never gives up recording until the very end--also that we see him in the occassional tv special or film. That would still be good enough for me.

KyleNZ; No word yet, since the court settlement there has been the predictable rumors and demands of a tour, but nothing else. Assuming the "news" about a tour of Australia/N.Z. was accurate a while back, perhaps it's still in play and will resume from planning to reality in the near future. If so, that's just the kick in the ass I need to make my dream trip of the area become realized!

Apparently, there is a published report that Macca is to embark on a world tour for the next 2 years! Hope it's true, I don't know the reliability of The Mirror. There are no direct quotes from Macca or Macca "people." Anything else on this???????

Star wants to devote more time to daugter, say reports Jun 8, 2008 Paul McCartney is set to announce a massive farewell tour, according to reports. The UK press is claiming that the former Beatle is soon to confirm a hundred-date stretch over two years. after which time he retire from large-scale international touring to spend more time with young daughter Beatrice. The Sunday Mirror quotes a source close to McCartney as saying: "Paul explained that this tour will be the last big one. He wants to settle down and enjoy Beatrice's childhood. "The tour will be the last time he performs in many parts of the world. Beatrice and his family life are going to come first. He does not want to be away for months at a time."

I'm afraid I will have to sit this one out - I'm almost retired from my "touring" days, lol. I hope lots and lots of young people get out there and see him - this may very well be their last chance. Hopefully there's an 18-year-old out there who's life will be changed by seeing Macca this year the same way mine was when I saw him 15 years ago.
