you have 5 songs you just can't finish. You offer them to a band to do with what they like....who is that band or artist?

Butch Walker!  The closest thing to Paul I've found over the years.  Plays all instruments, produces all sorts of people, and he writes great rock songs!   beer

There's a band out of Minneapolis called "The Jayhawks" who have a really melodic thing going on..
Might be worth Paul's time to contact them.
