Paul did some early Beatles songs, not totally identified with him in the past, (From Me To You, I'll Get You.)  Did you like them?

Was there too much "John" in them and not available on stage?

Should he scrap this idea of doing John/Paul songs or keep doing them?  I know he is capable of it, doing a great "I've Got A Feeling, " last tour.

There are three such outstanding, John/Paul 50-50 composed and sung songs out there, should he do one next tour?  Two? All Three?  None?

A. She Loves You

B. I Want To Hold Your Hand

C. The Word

I'd go with one and two, but I think "The Word" has become too associated with JL...even if they shared compositional credit.

Can you say "guest vocalist"? Why not? It would be cool to hear him sing any Beatle song if you ask me...I mean, he was in that band right? wink Just bring in the right voice to complement his...and bobs you uncle. laughing

Lampie; no, but you get to vote again - in my best McEnroe voice - "What's your opinion on this one?!"  (The world and Paul want to know!) knock

........My final answer......he should play and rehearse them all, but do only those that are consensus 5 star***** performances, these songs are so great....he needs to do them service and make sure the performance warrants using them
He has so many post Beatle songs to do, he should not exclude any of them in favor of an inferior Beatle one.

That said - I am sure he and the band can deliver all three songs and blow the room (or sky) into space! kiss

if his band can do a rousing version of a classic beatle song...he should consider it...even if it was co-written. i'd love to hear the word.

It would be interesting to hear Paul sing John's verses on The Word, but how about something like Nowhere Man? Paul's voice would really suit that song and he and the band would be able to deliver it pretty well. I like the idea of sprinkling one or two surprises in there, like I've Got A Feeling, but there is that danger of descending into a nostalgia jukebox. I think Paul should do more of his present stuff, and I don't mean just something like Dance Tonight.I'm thinking of the more interesting tracks like Mr Bellamy and Vintage Clothes.
