I'll go with "Yellow Submarine" for the sheer madness of the middle 8.

Me too, because it's such a catchy kids song... I'm singing the Hebrew version of it and dancing with my baby every day. I first heard it years ago, as a child, on "Sesamee Street", and it was so catchy I remember walking around the house singing it for days, amd my parents saying - "Hey, that was a very popular song once, where did you hear it...". I dimly remember hearing a Hebrew version of "All Together Now" (also on "Sesamee Street", I think...). Another fun kids song...

My choices are mixed (a cpl "funny", most just fun)
1) What Goes On (it's hilarious Ringo tryin' to be Buck Owens lol)
2) Yellow Submarine (I would've loved to be a fly on the wall at Abbey Road the day they recorded this gem--I concur w/ Merv on the middle 8, total zaniness--John sounds like he'd just been doing a little "mary jane" (nudge, nudge) w/ Paul in the EMI restroom! haha !! "sky of blue, sea of green,INDEED!!")
3)I Wanna Be Your Man- Ringo's early rocker ! ( I can always remember him shake his Beatle "mop" to this one....:)
4)Matchbox(a great selection off "Something New" on Capitol)
5)Honey Dont (always loved this one--it showcases Ringo & George's love for Carl Perkins and early Rockabilly)(a really decent recording)

sky of blue, sea of green,INDEED!!") I think I recall reading somewhere that Donovan, of all people, contributed this line to the song....or am I going mad? Does anyone else recall reading that?

Well, ya'll, I checked it out and the info came from none other than Macca himself in his biography Many Years From Now. Apparently there was a word gap in the song when Macca played an early version for Donovan. Paul asked what Donovan thought should go there...and we all know the rest!

I have to go Yellow Submarine, as well, wonderful, all time classic song - especially for children AND drunken adults. (LOL) A Little Help FMF is as classic and as significant, but Yellow Sub is "funner!" Your all right about Donovan. I met him after a concert and he IS a magical prince! That's Johnny Rythym blowing the bubbles through a straw on the rowdy break in Yellow Sub

OK - more on "Dono". I saw him play an outdoor concert outside of San Diego in Del Mar, on the infield of a horse race track at the County Fair, which is right across the street from a great beach. As the sun was setting over the Pacific, playing electric guitar, he opened with Sunshine Superman - and yes - sang the song's classic lyrics - "We stood on a beach at sunset do you remember when?" Priceless. THEN...he was signing autographs on albums/CD's and shaking hands with anyone who wanted to. He was very friendly and said it was great to meet me! While waiting in line, the night's headliners were taking the stage. It was the famous surf music pioneers -Dick Dale and the Del-tones. Then Dick Dale, after unfurling a surf guitar riff says: "Give it up for the great Donovan - the magic gypsy!. Everyone in the music business agrees he's a genius, but more importantly - the nicest guy on earth. He's BITCHIN'" Then he Telecasted waves of surf riffs wile Donovan cracked-up with the fans.
