Is he trying to drive us nuts or what? (and if he is it's working... rainbowbounce)

Now it's official: Paul McCartney coming to Israel

Rock legend, ex-Beatle to perform in Tel Aviv on September 25th

The uncertainty is over: Ex-Beatle Sir Paul McCartney will perform at Tel Aviv's Hayarkon Park on September 25th. The rock legend's show is expected to be one of the biggest in Israel's history.

McCartney is expected to perform many Beatles songs as well as songs from his illustrious solo career. The producer behind the show is David Zarzevski, who in the past booked prominent performers such as Erika Badu and Lauryn Hill.

Journalists are scheduled to be briefed later this week ahead of the big show. The briefing will include all the details about the concert, including ticket prices and McCartney's schedule in Israel.

As this will be the first time McCartney performs in Israel, he is expected to play a special set that mostly includes well-known hits. Ynet was told that the process of closing the contract vis-à-vis McCartney's managers was one of the most difficult ever for Israeli producers seeking to book an international performer.

The production costs are estimated at several million dollars, but the performance is expected to do more than just break even.

McCartney, 66, is considered one of the most influential musicians in the past 100 years.

OK, yes, now I'm officially going nuts... jumphappy

Ticket sale will start the day after tomorrow, but we already know the prices, more or less... according to the rumors, VIP tickets will be far too expensive for us, only I'm not sure yet what "VIP" means... guess it means close to the stage. One thing is sure - the place is gonna be crowded, so I'll have to be there hours before to get a decent place...

This is getting out of hand here - my brother in law drove all the way to the office in Tel-Aviv to buy tickets for all 3 of us - himself, my husband and me  - and just called and said their computer system broke down and everybody had to go home. He signed his name there so they are supposed to keep the tickets for him, so...

It's so funny, people on talkbacks here saying things like - "it's just a singer from the 60's, who'd go and see him?" Oh, nobody in particular, just the ten thousand people who tried to purchase a ticket at the same time and caused the computers to break down...

Not quite, it's 500 Shekels - I don't think it can be more than 180 dollars, approximately... Sitting tickets are 1,500 Shekels and there are also tickets in 5,000 Shekels - you try switching that to dollars  laughing... according to today's paper, the most expensive ones include a parking space and dinner backstage- not sure what "backstage" means, but if I had so much money to spend I'd have gone to see him in London, long ago...

Mi;

Think of it this way:  (As I told a friend here in the states, last tour) - Think of Paul as your lawyer and his band as his staff.  Now divide the price by the number of hours performed, over 2 + 1/2.  Now that $180.00 becomes a fee of about $70.00 an hour.  I'd much rather spend that money on Macca and band, than some attourney or accountant!
