Admit it.  Before you got obsessed with researching the Beatles, it's likely you thought I Feel Fine was at LEAST a 50-50 John/Paul song, if not a Paul penned, John lead vocal song.
It's all John.  Feedback and all.

Agree? Dis-agree?  Other nominations?

That's interesting...I never thought it was a Paul song...ever. I did alway think that that was a George guitar lick though. I wonder if there is a demo of this tune somewhere. The feedback I always thought was just vibration of the string against the guitar pick...I can make that sound by doing that. In any case, it is a great pop single......John was on a roll at this point in the Beatles. He could have farted a no 1 hit. ;)

It's hard to argue this point, PBW, as "I Feel Fine" is almost never mentioned as one of the 'greats' of the Beatles canon...one could have made the case for "Rain", a fine tune that could easily been an A-side.

I, too, LOVE "Rain!"

2/3 It's John's acoustic Gibson with the first feedback recorded.  It was leaning on an amp, started to hum and buzz and they instantly requested George Martin get it down on vinyl.

Ballad Of John and Yoko

Another fine song....the first time I was aware of, "Hey! That's Paul playing drums!"   idea

True Eddie...considering it was a hit twice...once by the Beatles, and later on when the Monkee's renamed it Pleasant Valley Sunday. wink

No, I never thought Paul wrote it.  I did think Paul was singing "Eight Days a Week" and was surprised to learn he's not singing at all on it-
