Those would be great!  BUT - Flash!  I've got a sudden feeling he will unleash:

"Uncle Albert, Admiral Halsey!"  "Hands across the water..." 0139-yes 0139-yes

Uncle Albert / Admiral Halsey - props to him if he can pull off the "hands across the water" part, live in the original register. I think it's the sort of song that could surprise and thrill fans at the same time - a lot of people who probably weren't keen on it when it came out may find a renewed appreciation for the song. Like 'wow, it really was a cool track after all'!

That would be a great song for guest singer to join him. Get somebody(girl) to do all the high parts...etc etc...that would be fun. :)

Going on his Letterman perfomance, I would say he could do ALL the Uncle Albert / Admiral Halsey high parts if he wanted to. The guy is amazing. The highest note on the 'live a little / be a gypsy / get around' section is a falsetto E. He hit a falsetto E dead on the money in Coming Up on the Letterman show performance. It's the kind of note he won't need to 'reach' for if he just vamps it like he does on the 1971 recording.

And the 'Hands Across the Water' part is a high C, just like say the 'Rabbits on the Run' part in Band on the Run.. which again, he nailed it on Letterman. I reckon he can still handle these notes. And he has more-than-capable harmony singers with him to back him up. He should do it!
