OK guys, let me tell you something about Paul McCartney you didn't know... the man is a natural born Hebrew speaker  laughing. I swear, if I didn't know better I'd think he was a native here...but let's start from the beginning. We arrived about four hours before the show started and, like I knew it would be, it was quite a nightmare standing there in the crowd waiting... it was so crowded you could hardly move. I knew it would be, it's just that I'm not used to it - don't go to crowded places usually. Since I'm rather short, and all the tall people stood before me, I was wondering about the place (which was nearly impossible...), trying to find a decent one, so eventually I ended up in the front row, but at the very end of it. I was standing on the barrier to get a better look and was squashed against the iron fence on one side, so it wasn't very comfortable... but once the show started it was all worth it! I just thought - "I don't care, I have to see him in person, not just on the screen". I got to see Paul from the side, you see. I just kept staring and thinking that this was the man I longed to see for 18 years... don't think I fully realized it, even until now...he turned in our direction from time to time, and once even waved and said "I see you", so he MIGHT have meant me... I was actually singing and yelling and dancing with everyone - didn't believe I would, don't do these things normally - guess nobody but Paul can make me do that...

He opened with "Hello Goodbye" and then said "Shalom Tel Aviv" and "Shana Tova" ("happy new year"), since our new year's eve is next week - the day after tomorrow, actually. Then he sang "All My Loving" and said: "Ze Me-pa'am" ("this one is from the past"). When he sang "My Love" he said - "Ha'shir Haze Mukdash Le... ("this song is devoted to...) Linda". And then added "and to all you lovers out there - make love, but not right now..." laughing. Oh, and he said "Toda" ("Thank you") nearly after every song... before he sang "Hey Jude" he asked - "Shiru iti" ("sing with me") and during the final chorus said "Rak Hanashim" ("only the women") "Rak Hagvarim" ("only the men") and then "Kulam" ("everybody")... guess he had it written with him somewhere, it's quite a lot to remember from a foreign language in one time, I mean what did he do, sat in the hotel and memorized it?...anyway, it was rather obvious he was particularly enjoying himself, and as for me... well, I had a perfectly marvelous time, as you can tell, I'm so thrilled I don't think I can go to sleep, but SOMEONE is going to wake me in about four or five hours at the most (it's 2.30 am)...you'll find plenty of videos at youtube, I guess, I just might appear somewhere because the photographers passed by me from time to time... if I don't look too terrible I'll let you know.
Good night for now, and thank you all for all your support and kind words, and Thank You Paul... beer

ALLL RIGHTTTTT!  Great, Mi, we are so jazzed you got to see, sing with and dance to Paul frickin' McCartney!

It's so wonderful for all of us to share this wonderful force of nature, Macca and his Music - live in concert -  with you.  Having experienced something so wonderful with great people like you makes each song even greater with each listening.

Welcome to the club!

So glad all went well.

Happy New Year!!! bigbeer beer

Mi, now that you've had time to reflect, any other memories or observations to share about the concert?  Have you had a post-concert high?  Do your Beatle/Paul records sound even better, now?

Interesting question, I haven't thought of it that way. I don't get to listen to much Beatles/Macca records these days - I'm here with kiddie's songs all day...but at the times I do listen to them I don't think they sounded any different - I do compare them to the way they sounded in the concert, now that I think of it. Whenver we listen to them in the car my husband and I keep asking - "did he sing that one?"...
I remember this one scary moment of fierworks during "Live and Let Die" (which, by the way, my husband still refers to as "the Guns and Roses song"... laughing) - when the first ones exploded I got kind of scared, I thought...you know, with all the threats we've heard... I think I'm having some kind of a post concert down, actually, now that it's over I came to the conclusion that one time is NOT enough... I keep thinking, you know, if we've gotten there an hour earlier I MIGHT have had a better place and could see him in front, not just in profile...I was waiting for him all concert to turn to our direction for a few seconds, and like I told you, once he looked in our direction and said "Yeah, I see you" and I DO believe he meant me, you see... I was the last one on the end of the raw, and kept climbing on the fence (with high heels...) and leaning forward and waving, so... who knows.
Anyway, I forgot to tell you, he ended the concert in a very cute way, he said - "now you've got to go home"  and we all yelled "No" laughing "You've got to go sleep" - "No", "I've got to go sleep" - "No" and so on... laughing He then added "Nitra'e" ("I'll see you around") so, I'd like to see him keep his promise...
