I was wondering this after watching highlights of the debates. Hillary running as an Independent right now would really be interesting....also...quite damaging. I wonder if it has crossed her mind?

That window closed long ago, legally and in practical terms. 

None of the major candidates will ever run, in their prime, as an independent,  because they were discovered, nurtured, promoted (possibly black-mailed) and indebted to the major parties.

Also, the mentality is always like a sports match, two competitors, going 1:1.  Anyone else on the field is treated as either a ref or cheerleader - not one of the "real" competitors.

Yeah, the 2 party system in the US is a lot different than here in Canada...we have a bunch of parties running right now...the 3rd and 4th are a bunch of yahoos...no wait...so are the 1st and 2nd....what was the question again?  laughing
