watched arguably my all time favorite movie on blue ray...pulp fiction.

there are so many great things about this movie. the fact that so many people just don't get it is one of them. two bad-ass hitmen...cruel, ruthless, without fear...talk just like you and me. the banter between jules and vincent is so real, so clever, and so funny...it's like overhearing two others talk in a bar or department store.

christopher walken's monologue to young butch about the history of his dad's gold watch...

tim roth and amanda plummer's dialog about how hard it is to make a living before holding up a diner...

travolta's heroin scene (i swear, it was almost like watching sex) and the overdose scene...

roger ebert once said a great movie has to have at least 3 great scenes. i'd say that every scene in this movie hits it out of the park. every scene.

the music is pitch perfect. the actors are cast perfectly. the fact that it is non-linear so you have to piece it together in your head...brilliant.

Plus, that saves you some time and money, what with not having to worry so much about continuity or linear storyline editing!

I got Rise of the planet of the Apes in the DVD player...This one was great. I didnt review it. i have been kind of on "normalcy hiatus"..see other posts from today...but if you like suspense you will not be disappointed. Really i think one of the best one i have seen in ages. Good action, good story, human element, a think about the consequences thingy....if you rent it or even buy it you wont be sorry :D

Water for elephants....while robert pattison may be a turn off to most because of all the hype, i really think he is a good actor. and may even be Bond one day. He turns in a good performance opposite reese whitherspoon in this movie about a circus that competes with the likes of ringling bros. It is a love story, and some material may be inappropriate for young kids (not the lovey dovey stuff, but cruelty to animals) but its a good one to see, if only to see the man who may be Bond :)
