Here's a thread for any comments, opinions, facts, insight, questions regarding any Beatle/Solo song.

We often notice something....or wonder....or learn ...want to share a thought, feeling or insight into a Beatle and/or Solo song with our like minded folk, so here's the place to jot it out and share.

I'll start:

"Cosmically Conscious" by Paul, was written in India, 1968 with so many of those iconic songs recorded for the White Album.  With all the run-up publicity to The Meditation benefit next month, I have been listening and thinking of this song.

It wasn't finished in 68, so Paul dusted it off for Off the Ground.  It would be great to see it performed during the benefit, so fitting for the occasion.

On it, Paul plays: guitar, sitar, ocarina and vocals.  Credit Robbie McIntosh with mandolin, Linda with harmonium, Wicks, piano and Ham/Blair, Bass/drums.
Let's hear it Macca!

Great, OK, here's another "new" song to dust-off live:

At The Coachella Festival, there will be a very young crowd by usual  Macca crowd standards - he can have a great 'wink'n'nod' moment with them by singing:"Your Mother Should Know."

One of my favorite Macca  solo songs recorded - is hardly known to fans.  It is the AIDS charity song single, "WHole Life."  It rocks!....and rocks!.....and rocks!......... with great lyrics!  Love it.

People may know it was recorded with Dave Stewart, what they may not know, is Macca had the song lying around for 8 years until he dusted it off and recorded it with Dave and Macca's BAND!
Yes, that's Abe, Rusty and Brian rocking out.  Love for them to play this one live - (and get it tape, boys)!

Great version.. Ringo's drumming on this is brilliant. Wish they were still working together on albums and stuff!

Coming Up, studio version is all Macca.  It was released with a live version of Coming Up on the reverse side of the single.  That was recorded several months later than the studio version,  live with Wings - and live horns!

Never before heard, Macca rolled it out to a Scottish audiance - and rolled tape.

Boy, it would be nice to see him repeat the feat in similar style again, imagine, now, he debuts a MONSTER rocker at a concert - and rolls tape? beer

On the "other' website someone (actually an excellent poster, nice guy) is wondering if the live Coming Up  has multiple performance releases - or is it all one performance, edited down?

It's been released in various sized singles', bonus', etc, in different length.  Even edited down for Wingspan - but it's all that ONE Glasgow performance.  Feel free to let them know. bigbeer

Paul is famous for writing fragments of songs, some turned into full songs, years later, some woven together into suites or medleys.

John , also has done this, most recently in his career with the song: Starting Over.  The original songs, of which he had fragments, were:

My Life

I Watch Your Face

Don't be Crazy

The Worst Is Over

All of these fragments were washed and rinsed with big John influence -  Roy Orbison.  Specifically,  "Only the Lonely."

On John's Imagine album is a song titled "Gimme Some Truth."  It features a scortching lead guitar.  Guitarist?
George Harrison.
