Wow thanks! That was one hot gig! Helter Skelter and Back in the USSR rocked! Can't wait to see it screen in NZ soon, probably next week.

I reckon Paul should use this raw rocking style on something like I Want To Hold Your Hand. Rather than try and make a cute Beatle version of it, he and his band could do it like he did Back In The USSR and people would love it.

Heck, go even further with the idea, do a 'Run Devil Run' style album focusing on the early Beatles hits, like She Loves You, From Me To You, I Want To Hold Your Hand etc, but don't do it the nostalgic Mark Hudson Rutle-style way, go raw and hard and fast. It would make up for John not being there, and I know Macca and his band can do it. That Letterman performance proves it. Look at the rockin way they played Coming Up, launching into Peter Gunn in the middle of it..

As Paul gets older, I can see him getting edgier, not backing down. I'd love to see him still here in 10 years time like an old bluesman still kicking butt! That performance was awesome. And he hit a high falsetto E in Coming Up.. I challenge Elton John and Robet Plant to do that!

Plant & Elton could hit that note, but only if Macca's singing it, then Abe would kick their butts! laughing laughing laughing laughing laughing

Thanks, 2/3,  I DVR'd the show, it was good!

What a buzzzzzz that was for New Yorkers on the way home from work!

I wonder if he is still off weed (and smoke in his lungs) - making him better able to hit the high ones?  (Or, just the opposite, LOL) beach

There was an interview with Macca on today's Letterman on tv here, and he played Get Back and Sing The Changes - but no sign of Band on the run / Helter Skelter etc! Still waiting. But wow Get Back was really good! Easily as good as the Beatles rooftop version! Not so sold on Sing The Changes though, the chords are a bit boring, the only really cool bit is the beginning and end sections of the song. But it did get a good reception from the NYC crowd.

It's always been a great live track, right from the 'live in Glasgow' B-side before he had even recorded it! The Tripping the Live Fantastic version was good too, and still rocking it today!
