New twist on "John Story."

Most have heard about John, Nillson and Elton John getting drunk in L.A. and heckling the Smother's Brothers and John modeling a Kotex on his head after drinking Brandy Alexanders.

What I recently learned, was that the next day John sent apologies, candy and roses to the Smothers Brothers and quit Brandy Alexanders.  Sounds true.

I wonder if they had anything to do with the explosive charge in Keith Moons drim kit too?

According to May Pang's great book, "LOVING JOHN," thats quite true.   Another odd tid-bit: after the tussle with Peter Lawford at the Smothers Brothers show John lost his glasses.  They were retrieved by one of the people in Lawford's crew.  And they took them back to his house for a post-show party.  And everybody at the party passed the famous "Lennon glasses" around and tried them on for size.
